I’m all set for my third show in four weeks! The American Craft Council show in Atlanta starts tomorrow and runs through the weekend.
The show is located at the Cobb Galleria Centre at 2 Galleria Parkway in Atlanta. Hours are 10-8 Friday, 10-6 Saturday, and 11-5 Sunday. I’m in Booth 1210 and I’d love to see you if you’re in the area and have a chance to stop by.
I’m getting faster at setting up with all this practice! Today’s only took five hours, while the Baltimore show took me eight. Definitely moving in the right direction.
I enjoy setup days. Everyone is excited and the air is full of promise and possibilities. It never gets old watching a bare convention center or a city street get transformed in a matter of hours into a busy, colorful, creative space.
It’s fun to create a booth from the ground up–flooring, walls, lights, then art. I like to think of it as designing a window into my world. I had an idea about displaying the smaller pieces as a group, which you can see in the first photo–three 12″x12″ pieces intermixed with six 6″x6″ ones. I think there are lots of options there to play with!
I have some new pieces I’m excited about, including “Ocean Waves” at bottom left. I’ve done several in this series, but this is the first one that has so much color in it–the others were more sand tones. There’s lots of great texture if you right-click on the image. This piece is 20″ x 20″ and is mounted on a painted black canvas.
Adding photos has been a bit of a struggle today, since my phone decided that it no longer wants to send images to my computer. I had to figure out a workaround, so if they seem not exactly where you would expect them to be, that’s why! I just can’t put up a post without pictures though.
Thanks for reading and enjoy your weekend!
Your booth looks beautiful. Love all the new work and the way you arranged the smaller pieces. Most attractive. Hope you have a really good show. Keep me posted.
Good luck in Atlanta, Cindy!
