American Fine Craft Show – Brooklyn Museum 2015 Cindy Grisdela

I’m all set up and ready to go at the American Fine Craft Show at the Brooklyn Museum this weekend!

Monet and friends at the Brooklyn Museum of Art

This is my second year doing this show and I’m just as awed by having my work in the same room as Monet as I was the first time! The show is being held in the circular atrium of the Brooklyn Museum of Art, with a beautiful glass and tile floor and work from the museum’s collection on the outer walls.

There are 90 carefully selected artists in the show, ranging from high-end jewelry and wearable art to sculpture and ceramics, wood and decorative fiber. Each artist has a story to tell about his or her inspiration, art and creativity.

It’s a unique experience to visit this show in a museum setting–come and see for yourself! Hours are 11-6 Saturday Nov. 21 and Sunday, Nov. 22. Admission is $16 and includes admittance to the museum collection as well as the show.

I’m in Booth 73 and I’d love to show you my new work!

Best in Show Award

Best in Show Downtown Art Festival Gainesville FL 2015 Cindy Grisdela

In the whirlwind of doing back-to-back shows in Florida and New York this week, I just realized I didn’t post my big news on the blog! I was in Gainesville, Florida doing the Downtown Art Festival last weekend. It was a gorgeous weekend and a beautiful show–and I won Best in Show!! I was shocked, honored, and grateful to the show judges and the festival staff for the recognition.

I also sold five pieces at the show, so I drove back from Florida on Monday and I’ve been in the studio all week creating new work to replace those that sold for this show in Brooklyn this weekend!

I wrote all about the experience in my email newsletter that went out earlier this week. You can read it by clicking on the “Best in Show” newsletter under Newsletter Archives on the right sidebar.

Thanks for reading!
