I had so much fun as a guest on Pat Sloan’s American Patchwork & Quilting Podcast today! We talked about my book, Artful Improv: Color Recipes, Building Blocks & Free Motion Quilting and the fact that Pat and I belong to the same large multi-chapter guild here in Northern Virginia!

We chatted about color, using simple design principles to create more effective art quilts, free motion quilting, and whether you can use patterned fabrics in improv quilting. I knew some of the questions she was going to ask, but not all, so I was a tiny bit nervous beforehand. I didn’t need to be–it was just like talking over coffee, except on the radio!

You can listen to the whole conversation on the podcast at http://blog.patsloan.com/radio-shows/

There are many other interesting guests archived as well at this link, so you can listen to as many as you like!
