I’m excited with this new piece finished last week!
“Jazzberry” is part of a series I’ve been exploring using improvisational log cabin blocks combined with curved stripes. This is a new color combination–various reds, purples and blues, plus a little gray for contrast.
It’s 24″ h x 12″ wide and mounted on an artist’s canvas painted black.
The closeup of the stitching gives you a feel for the texture I’ve added with pebbles and curvy lines.
“Jazzberry” is all packed up to go to the American Fine Craft Show benefiting the Wadsworth Atheneum Museum of Art in Hartford, CT this weekend!
The show is being held in the XL Center at 1 Civic Center Plaza. Hours are 10-7 Saturday and 11-5 Sunday. Admission is $14, but if you click on the link above, you can purchase advance tickets at a discount online. There are over 120 artists showing their work–from jewelry to wearable art, wood to ceramics, glass to furniture–plus decorative fiber, of course!
I’ve got some other new pieces to share, and I’ll be in Booth 58 if you’re in the area and have a chance to stop by and say hello–I’d love to see you there!
Beautiful!! Those are my colors.I predict this will be a big hit this week-end. Good luck! Love you!!
