I’ve been looking closely at your quilting (very nice!) and I have a specific question about the “Ocean Waves” piece, the lower green section. I love how you have avoided excessive thread buildup between the horizontal ‘waves.’ Question: Did you work these sections of waves from left to right (perhaps with a horizontal line of stitching to separate one wave from another? Or, did you work from top to bottom and make waves by curving concave to convex and perhaps moving from right to left ¼” inch with each curve, and maybe overlapping left or right where the horizontal ‘imaginary line’ is to create a ‘line’ without excessive thread buildup? Nicely done! Cindy | January 7, 2017 @ 11:12 am Thank you Diane! The waves motif is one of my favorites. I stitch the horizontal lines first, then fill in with the waves. There’s a nice description and line drawing of the motif in my book “Artful Improv.” Leave a Comment Click here to cancel reply Error! This email is not valid.
