Redecorating Atelier Studio Spring 2013 Cindy Grisdela

I didn’t mean to be away so long! The last couple of weeks have been a blur with water damage, a sick cat and house guests–just the way life is, right? But my cat is better, the water damage is being fixed and I’m having a good time showing my sister and nephew around Washington DC in the spring. It’s a great way to appreciate where we live.

Last week studiomate Jennifer Duncan and I redecorated our shared space at the Artists’ Atelier for spring. If you right-click on the image, you’ll be able to see more detail. As you might recall, Jennifer is a mixed-media painter. Although we work separately, we like similar color combinations. It’s really amazing when we bring in work to hang in the space and it goes together so well, without having to plan it out ahead of time. Improvisational decor!

I especially like the wall on the right, with my Amber Harvest and Square Dance pieces hanging with Jennifer’s Tent City and Cairn paintings. The Atelier is open every Wednesday and Saturday from 12-4 PM and other times by appointment. Just let me know if you’d like to stop by!

I just received my booth assignment for the Craftboston Spring show April 19-21 in Boston–I’ll be in Booth 236! And next week we’re hanging the show “Common Threads – Different Visions at the Ratner Museum in Bethesda. The opening reception is Sunday, April 7 from 1:30 -3:30 PM at the museum at 10001 Old Georgetown Road, Bethesda, MD 20814. I’m one of eight fiber artists in the show.
