On a more positive note than my last two posts, I’m thrilled to announce that I’ve been accepted to the Washington Craft Show in Washington, DC this fall–October 31-November 2, 2014.

I’ve applied to this show several times in the past, but it’s very competitve and this is the first year I’ve been accepted. It’s great to have some good news!

The show takes place at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in downtown DC and showcases the work of about 200 artists. I’m excited to be part of it.

At left is Blue Totem, the most recent in my Totem series. The central block is an improvisational log cabin design, surrounded by asymmetrical blue borders with lots of great texture. If you right-click on the image, you’ll be able to see the stitching better.

My next show is ¬†June 14-15–the Old Town Art Fair in the Old Town Triangle District in Chicago. ¬†Click on the link above for more information. Hours are 10 am – 6 pm both days. If you’re in the area, I’d love to see you!

Thank you again to everyone who has read, commented, shared, retweeted, and reblogged my story about the six pieces that were stolen from my booth at my last show. If you haven’t read about it, please go to these posts here and here. I’ve gotten some great advice from people about how to secure my booth better at night, so I’m going to implement those suggestions. And with all the help I’ve gotten from people sharing my story, I’m hopeful that someone somewhere will see something and come forward and I will get my work back. You have restored my faith in people!
