Wonky Circle Top

Wonky Circle Top 2013 Cindy Grisdela

Funny thing happened the other day when I was writing my post about the Wonky Circle quilt–I meant to press the button to “preview” the post so I could see how it would look once it was published, but I accidentally pressed “Publish” instead! In three years of blogging, I think that’s the first time I’ve done that. Good thing I wasn’t in the middle of a word or a sentence.

I wanted to show the entire top because the design has changed since I showed it here a week or so ago. I wasn’t entirely sold on either of the options I had available at the time–dark red or cinnamon brown–and I wasn’t thrilled with the layout either.

One of my regular readers came to my rescue with a great suggestion about moving the border circles from the corners to the interior–and it worked! Much more interesting, I think. In the meantime I had also placed an order for my favorite Cherrywood fabrics and this wonderful green showed up in my mailbox. Now I’m much happier with the piece–I just have to think of another name besides “Wonky Circles.”

Mark your calendars for the American Craft Council Show in Baltimore Feb. 22-24–I’ll be in Booth 3505 and I’d love to see you! Hopefully “Wonky Circles” will be hanging there.

Oh yes, that green makes for a lovely border. As for a name? They have all moved a step (or more) to the right.
