There’s just one week left until the Studio Art Quilt Associates (SAQA) Annual Benefit Auction begins! Visit www.saqa.com to see over 200 12″ x 12″ square quilts donated by members to the auction. The bidding begins on Monday, September 20, 2010 at 2 PM EST for the first group of quilts. Prices begin at $750 on that day, the next day at 2 PM EST the price drops to $550, then $350 the next day and $250 the following day. On September 24 at 2 PM EST, the price drops to $150 and on the final day, September 25, the work will be sold for $75. It’s a great way to buy a gift of art from some of the best fiber artists out there, or to add to your own collection.
The auction for the second group of quilts begins on September 27, 2010 at 2 PM EST and the third auction begins on October 4, 2010.
Proceeds from the auction go to support SAQA’s exhibits, education and outreach efforts to promote quilts as art all over the world. It’s a great group that provides much needed support and encouragement to art quilters everywhere. I’m proud to be a member.
