"Green Glass Bubbles" Cindy Grisdela 2009

In connection with the upcoming Smithsonian Craft Show this week, “Green Glass Bubbles” is available for sale through the Smithsonian Online Auction. To reach the auction page, visit www.SmithsonianCraftShow.org and click on “Online Auction” on the menu bar on the left. My work is included under the “Torpedo Factory” grouping. There’s lots of beautiful art available through the auction and the actual pieces will be on  display at the Smithsonian Craft Show April 14-17, 2011 at the National Building Museum in Washington DC. The auction will be open through April 20 at 9 PM so you have plenty of time to bid on your favorites, even if you can’t get to the show! If you have a chance to see the show, it promises to be wonderful, with 120 top artisans showing their work.
This piece has tiny seed beads hand sewn into the green sections of the design and is freemotion machine quilted with a variety of interesting quilting motifs. Right-click on the image to see the details better. It’s a cheerful piece that measures 15″h x 12″w and it’s gallery wrapped and mounted on stretcher bars so it hangs just like a picture. It’s the perfect size to brighten a small space!
