The Ann Arbor Art Festival starts next week, Wednesday, July 17 and runs through Saturday, July 20 in Ann Arbor, MI. Practically the whole town turns into an art show for those four days–it’s a unique experience!
I’ve been busy creating a new line of small wall quilts mounted on painted canvas, like Sidewalk in the Park, at left. This piece is 10″ x 10″, just the right size to brighten up a small space, and there’s lots of interesting stitching for texture. The canvas is
painted black so the colors really pop out. You can see the depth in the picture at right.
The Ann Arbor Festival is really four shows all rolled into one, so there’s plenty to see and do.
Visit the website at http://artfairs.visitannarbor.org/ to find out more. I’ll be in Booth B509 on Maynard St. and I’d love to see you if you’re in the area!
I’ll have a new selection of these small wall pieces, plus my larger pieces for the wall, as well as great gift ideas from pillows to table runners, coasters, eyeglass cases and patchwork covered journals. Wouldn’t these coasters in shades of red add a nice pop of color to your kitchen? And they can just be thrown in the wash if someone spills a little coffee on them. Perfect!
Now time to get back to work so I’ll be ready.
