The first full day of the Northern Virginia Fine Arts Festival opens today from 10 AM – 8 PM at the Reston Town Center in Reston, VA.
I have a great location just to the side of the fountain on Market Street–Booth 223.
Setup was yesterday and I was holding my breath a little bit because we had torrential rains and flooding on Thursday night. I was finishing up some last minute things Friday morning and watching the weather trying to decide when to go over and put up my tent, because the weather service was predicting rain into the afternoon. About 11 AM, suddenly the clouds lifted and the sun came out! So set up was no problem.
I have some new pieces that I haven’t shown in the DC area before, including my City Streets triptych. It’s three 20″ x 20″ panels designed to hang as one piece, so the quilting stitches flow from one panel to the next. If you right click on the image to open it in a new window, you can see the stitching better.
I also have some new smaller pieces just right for a grouping or a narrow space.
There are over 200 artists at the show, ranging from painting to photography, pottery to jewelry, and a lot of interesting things in between. It looks like it’s going to be a great day today, so I hope you’ll have time to come out and see us!
