3 Friends

3 Friends is an exploration of color, shape and line. The primary figures rollick across the space, kicking up their heels as they go. Dense free motion quilting in a variety of motifs adds texture and dimension to the whole.

The shapes were cut freehand without patterns or templates, using my rotary cutter as a drawing tool. Each decision about color, line and shape influenced the next as I engage in a dialogue with my materials.
