Jumping for Joy

Jumping for Joy evolved from my intense study of improvisational log cabin blocks. I created a variety of blocks using warm and cool colors, then, arranged them on my design wall until I had a composition I liked, then filled in the blank spaces with striped units to give the piece more energy. A whimsical spiral and jigsaw puzzle gives texture to the completed composition.

This piece was selected as the featured art for the Downtown Art Festival in Gainesville, FL in 2018, and appeared in posters, Tshirts, and bags advertising the event.
