"Intuition II"

I got a surprise in my inbox the other day–this picture of “Intuition II” in its new home!

I was commissioned to create this piece earlier this year and sent it off to its happy new owner. What a treat to see it again in such a lovely space!

Because my work is improvisational in nature, no two pieces are ever exactly alike. In this case, the purchaser really wanted my piece “Intuition,” but I had just sent it off to a show in Florida where it was going to stay for the next three months, and it had to be for sale there. So I agreed to create a piece that was similar, but not identical, for her home.

The pieced center and subtle variations in the green background invite you to come closer, where you can see all the different stitching lines I added to create texture.

I didn’t get a good image of this piece before I sent it out to its new home, so I’m thrilled to be able to share this one in place. It’s a great opportunity to see what my work looks like in a real home environment.
