Plan to visit the Artists Atelier this weekend for our “Flowers and Chocolate” reception on Saturday, Feb. 9 from 12-4 PM. There will be all kinds of chocolate to taste, artists at work, and a beautiful exhibit to feast your eyes upon!
Since I don’t normally do representational work, my contribution to the exhibit is The Road Home in the center of the picture at left. The red and green seemed Valentine-like to me! I do have another piece in the exhibit that speaks more directly to the theme–Buttercream and Chocolate is a cupcake piece I did several years ago for a special theme show. It’s hand-
appliqued and the buttercream cupcake in the foreground has tiny seed beads hand stitched into the frosting. It’s mounted onto a 12″x12″ canvas.
The Atelier exhibit is up for the month of February and includes some really stunning paintings and photography, all with a romantic theme great for a Valentine’s Day gift for that special someone! If you can’t make it on Saturday, we’re open every Wednesday and Saturday from 12-4 PM. Make a date to stop by!
: The Atelier is located at 1144 Walker Rd., Suite G, Great Falls, VA.
Today I’ve been working on table runners for the Baltimore Craft Show in a couple of weeks. At left is one of the tops I got finished. It isn’t quilted yet, but I’m really happy with the cheerful colors and scrappy design. Can’t you see this adding a splash of color to your kitchen table? Of course it could hang on the wall too. I think it will finish out at about 15″x35″.
The American Craft Council show in Baltimore is coming up soon–Friday, Feb. 22 – Sunday, Feb. 24 at the Baltimore Convention Center at One Pratt St. I’ll be in Booth 3505 and I’d love to see you if you have a chance to stop by!
Beautiful table runner. I really like it. I have always liked the cupcake wall hanging. Looks good enough to eat. Have a good time Saturday. Love you!
Ohhh this is lovely! I host a link party “Off the Wall Fridays” and would like to invite you to join us anytime you have a project going that you want to share. We find it inspiring, motivational and educational.
Thanks for your kind words and your invitation, Nina-Marie. That sounds like a lot of fun and I’ll definitely take you up on it. I’ve bookmarked your site so I can keep up.
Happy Creating–
Cindy
