“Shared Colors” is up at Katie’s Coffee at the Old Brogue in Great Falls, VA through the end of January.
A joint exhibit with fellow artist and studio mate Jennifer Duncan, the show highlights our shared sense of color and often whimsical way of looking at the world.
Here’s the show statement:
As studio mates at the Artists’ Atelier and members of Great Falls Studios, Jennifer Duncan, a painter, and Cindy Grisdela, a fiber artist, have had many opportunities to enjoy one another’s work. Although creating in different media, they have marveled at the remarkable similarities in their use of color and design. While the collaboration between painter and fiber artist is somewhat unusual, the subject matter of both artists relates to the whimsical perspectives they express in their art about the world around us. This exhibit highlights the creative and unique styles of each artist, while emphasizing the parallels in their work.
Each of us has five pieces in the show, some created especially for this exhibit.
Katie’s Coffee is located at 760 Walker Road in Great Falls, next to the Old Brogue Restaurant and Pub. It’s a great place to come in from the cold to have a cup of coffee and a treat and enjoy the art on the walls. If you stop by on a Thursday morning between 8:30 and 10 AM, one or both of us is likely to be there and we’d be happy to answer any questions you might have!
