Here’s the link for my TV appearance yesterday on WUSA Channel 9’s “Great Day Washington” show: http://www.wusa9.com/videos/entertainment/television/programs/great-day-washington/2015/10/22/american-fine-craft-show-washington-featured-designers/74386544/
It was great fun to be part of the segment promoting the American Fine Craft Show|Washington, which opens today at the DC Armory. I’ve never been backstage for a live TV show before. It was really fast paced and a great experience–a little nervous making when the cameraman said “5 seconds” before the camera started rolling, but I managed. I shared the segment with Candiss Cole, a wonderful clothing designer. She even let me wear one of her creations for the show! One of the show’s anchors, Markette Sheppard, is putting on one of Candiss’ creations, a felted jacket trimmed with rooster feathers, in the picture at left.
The show looks like it’s going to be great–I went straight there from the TV studio to set up yesterday afternoon. There are nearly 200 artists in a variety of fine craft media–clothing, jewelry, furniture, ceramics, glass, mixed media and more.
Hours are 2-8 today, 10-6 on Saturday, and 10-5 on Sunday. Admission is $22 today, which includes a fashion show and artist talks, plus 10% of all sales today will go to benefit the National Museum of Women in the Arts. Admission is $14 tomorrow and Sunday. Click here to print out discount coupons.
I’d love to see you there!
