Thanks for all your helpful, insightful comments about the yellow and orange compositions I posted about recently!
Although the orange and dark gray design was ahead in the comments in the beginning, the yellow and light gray one won in the end. It’s quilted with subtle curved lines in a pastel variegated thread so as not to overpower the composition. I made it into a pillow that will be available starting November 1 at the Celebration of American Crafts at the Creative Arts Workshop in New Haven, CT. It’s my third year participating in this invitational show that runs through December 24, 2014. Hours are Monday to Saturday 11 – 6; Thursdays 11 – 8; Sundays 1 – 5. I’ll have some other pillows and wall hangings in the show as well.
I’ve been hard at work getting ready for the Great Falls Studios 2014 Studio Tour in just over a week. This year the tour will be three days–Friday, October 17 through Sunday, October 19, 2014. Hours are 10-5 each day. I’ll be at the Artist’s Atelier, the studio I share with twelve other artists for the tour, and I’ll be demonstrating how I add texture to my work with just a regular home sewing machine. Come visit me at 1144 Walker Road, Suite G in Great Falls, VA. The tour is free and there will be 50 artists participating–painters, photographers, jewelers, potters, and more. Visit our website at www.GreatFallsStudios.com to get more information about the artists and the tour and plan your visit. Click on “2014 Studio Tour.”
We’d love to see you there!
