My quilt “Lake House” is now up for auction at the Studio Art Quilt Associates (SAQA) site. Click here to go to the auction page.
Each piece is 12″ x 12″ or One Foot Square. It’s a reverse auction, so the price starts out at $750 for each quilt on the first day, then drops each day at 2 PM to the next price point–$550, $350, $250, $150 and $75. Click on the link and pick out your favorites! There’s a lot of great art in this auction, and the funds go to support SAQA’s mission to promote art quilts through things like education and exhibits.
This piece is part of my series exploring color, line and shape using only solid colors to create abstract landscapes. If you right-click on the image you can see the square architectural shapes in the horizontal “house” section, the swirls for clouds or wind at the top and the wavy lines and bubbles for the water section. I spent a lot of time at the lake when I was growing up in Florida, and this is my tribute to those wonderful memories.
