The Washington Craft Show starts today at 10 AM. I was down at the Convention Center all day yesterday setting up my booth–always an interesting experience!
You start out in an empty, cavernous hall. Then the artists begin to cart in dollies full of display equipment and art. And the happy sound of banging and clanging begins to fill the space, as each person creates a window into their world in a 10’x10′, or maybe 10’x15′, space where once there was only bare concrete.
I’m excited to exhibit my newest piece, which I’ve decided to call
Spice of Life, for this show! You can see it on the main back wall underneath the sign with my name on it. if you’ve been following me on Instagram or Facebook, you might have already seen one of these details–shown at right. Double-click on the image to see the texture better.
If you’d like to follow me on Instagram, Facebook, or Pinterest, or get my blog posts and newletters delivered right to your inbox, visit the links on the right sidebar.
I’m in Booth 517 at the show, which runs today from 10-8, Saturday from 10-6 and Sunday from 11-5. Admission is $15, but today, Friday, there is discounted admission after 6 PM. The show is located at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, DC, 801 Mt. Vernon Place.
I hope you’ll have a chance to stop by and say hello! And Happy Halloween!
