The Atlanta Craft Show sponsored by the American Craft Council opens today at the Cobb Galleria Centre in Atlanta. Hours are 10-8 today, 10-6 tomorrow and 11-5 on Sunday.
I’m in Booth 1210.
I was able to make several new pieces for this show, including Spring Garden at left. I included some Kaffe Fassett printed fabrics in this one as an experiment. Several years ago I stopped using printed fabrics in my work because the texture of the stitching didn’t show up as well. But I’m interested to see what happens if I reintroduce some prints judiciously. What do you think?
The show includes about 225 artists in every fine craft medium–jewelry, clothing, ceramics, glass, furniture, and of course, decorative fiber. It’s a great opportunity to see wonderful artwork and chat with the artists about their work, their process, and their inspirations. We’d love to see you there. It’s indoors and admission is $13. Click on the link above for more information.
I’d also like to show my “neutral corner”–which I thought I had blogged about before the Palm Beach Fine Craft Show two weeks ago. My Internet access at that show was unreliable, so the post apparently didn’t publish when I thought it did. I’ve also been experimenting with pushing neutrals with just a little color–which has been a lot of fun.
Thanks for reading!
Love your new work. I like the touch of prints in that one piece. Good luck!!
