I had a great time chatting with Alicia Thomas, Executive Director of the Virginia Quilt Museum, about my solo show at the museum on Textile Talks this month!

Sponsored by Studio Art Quilt Associates (SAQA), the talk featured a short video walk-through of my show, Abstractions in Color, and then questions about my process, inspiration, and so much more. Click on the image below to watch the recording.

It’s funny to me that the first image of my modern, abstract show is the traditional Amish inspired 9 Patch quilt that I included to let visitors know where I started!

I hope you’ll enjoy it!

    Hi Cindy,
I was just browsing quilts on my phone, trying to get inspired for an idea. I love that I discovered you and your quilt improv quilt ideas. Any suggestions to me for to get started. Which of your books might get my creative juices flowing?

Thank you Bonnie–I’m glad you found me! And thank you for your kind words about my work.

You might want to take a look at my newer book, Adventures in Improv Quilts, for ideas that you might be able to use to jumpstart your own creativity.

      Good luck! Cindy
