Booth at One of A Kind Chicago 2015 Cindy Grisdela
I’m all set up and ready to go at the One of A Kind show in Chicago!
As you can see, this is a different kind of a booth than I usually have. This show is held in a showroom setting in the Merchandise Mart in downtown Chicago, and each artist is provided with hard white walls for the booth. The ceilings are lower than in a convention hall, and the floors are carpeted, so it’s a nicer shopping experience.
Since I didn’t have to bring my display equipment, I was able to pack all my work into two 50 lb. suitcases (plus a backpack for my clothes) and fly to the show. I hopped on the train from the airport and got here with no problem–unless you count the one elevator that was out of service when I had to change trains, making it necessary to carry both suitcases up two flights of stairs! No driving hassles anyway.
This is an amazing show–over 600 artists creating in every media. There’s sure to be something for everyone on your list–shop handmade for the holidays! Hours are 11-8 today and Friday, 10-7 Saturday and 10-5 on Sunday. Admission is $12 and gets you in all four days of the show. A portion of the proceeds from ticket sales will be donated to the Lurie Children’s Hospital in Chicago.

Your booth looks beautiful and inviting, Cindy! Hope it was a resounding success in the Windy City. I should have told St to stop by to see you there. It’s the kind of show I would have loved to shop at, if I’d been there. Best wishes for the New Year!
