I’m thrilled to announce the virtual opening reception for Art Quilt Elements 2020 will be held this Friday, May 14, 2021. And they used my quilt for the Save the Date announcement! That’s pretty cool.
The reception will be on Zoom from 2 – 4 PM Eastern time on Friday, and some of the artists will be giving short talks about their work, including me.
The meeting is free, but preregistration is required. Visit http://www.artquiltelements.org/exhibitions/aqe-2020-online-exhibition-live-event/for the registration link.
The show was originally scheduled to happen in person in March 2020, but had to be postponed. There are 48 artists included from all over the world. I’m thrilled to be in such great company! The exhibit will be available to view online May 14 – July 9, 2021.
Confetti is one of my favorite quilts, designed improvisationally on my design wall with rough cut shapes before any sewing was done. It’s about 46″ square and all the curves are cut freehand, without patterns or templates. This is a process that I am using more and more frequently in my work, and I’ve created several pieces in this series, with hopefully more to come!
I hope you’ll be able to join us for the opening reception on Friday!
