Baltimore Craft Week April 12-18
I’m excited to announce I’ll be participating in the American Craft Council’s Baltimore Craft Week April 12-18, 2021. I’ve shown my work at the Baltimore Craft Show in person for a number of years, and I’m looking forward to the opportunity to do this virtual event. There are 150 artists participating this year–each of us…

I’m thrilled to announce that my Taste of Summer quilt won Best of Show at the Art League April Exhibit! I’m pleased with the honor, especially because the Art League is primarily a fine art venue that shows paintings, photography, and sculpture. The show will be in person at the Art League Gallery in…
Starting a New Series
Over the past year, I’ve been playing with the idea of large multiple cut curved blocks. The motif is simple–take a stack of blocks and cut random curves out of three of the four corners, shuffle the blocks and sew. Red Scarf, above, was the first one. I made it in grayscale to see if…

In the featured photo collage are some of my favorite images from…

Cut Up That Quilt Top
Sometimes it just doesn’t work. I love creating improvisationally without a pattern or templates, but I’m the first to admit that the process isn’t foolproof. That composition just doesn’t hang together right, or the colors don’t mesh like you thought they would, or the lines and shapes just aren’t interesting. It happens to everyone. So…
